If you need to make tags for your own journal, or to make
some pretty happy mail to send to your pen pal, try these
beautiful yet simple ideas from #JunkTheJournal
This video shows how to make a simple yet elegant tag with pockets. Use scraps of homemade paper or other rustic looking paper such as textured rice paper with natural fibers that have been included to make it more interesting.
Use rubber stamps to add some text or frames or other motifs that you find pleasing. It can be really fun just to use a set of simple alphabet & number stamps that you randomly stamp here and there, or use it to create words.
Layer your bit of paper with other papers of different colors and textures. Use a purchased tag or one that you have prepared (you can use hang tags from clothing or other products that you purchase) and make layered pockets on the tag using vellum, tracing paper, parchment, or other papers.
Tuck small ephemera pieces, labels & stickers into the pockets. Wrap the whole thing with string or twine (add a charm if you like). Stamp with words or motifs, or use a label maker to create your phrase or sentiment.
Add a rub on transfer. There are so many to choose from, and they are so charming!
Finally, tie string or twine in a bow at the top of the tag
